    System Requirements for SL 2011

    The PDF documents below contain the minimum client and server hardware requirements, including Terminal Server minimum hardware requirements, for Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 as supported by Microsoft Dynamics SL Technical Support.

    The system requirements for Microsoft Dynamics® SL 2011 are contained in two separate documents, one for the core back office applications and one for the Web applications. These requirements and recommendations are based on experience with many different installations. Users may need to increase these requirements due to environmental factors to achieve individual performance expectations.

    The key point to note in these documents is that the operating systems for the server and clients must be Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Vista, or Windows 7 (either 32 bit or 64 bit).  Microsoft SQL Server must be SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2008 R2 (either 32 bit or 64 bit).

    One other important note.  Existing Dynamics SL sites can continue to use FRx Financial Report Writer with Dynamics SL 2011, but not future releases.  Effective with the release of SL 2011, FRx is being replaced by Management Report Writer, which can be viewed as an upgraded FRx.  However, Management Report Writer will only work in an Active Directory Domain.  Any sites without an Active Directory Domain will not be able to use Management Report Writer.  Please see the System Requirements for Management Report Writer.
